Meadow Pipit, I usually see these birds in flocks of 30-40 but they are difficult to get a capture of as they tend to be low amongst high grass and difficult to get close to. This one was the exception.

I used the 2x TC (III) to get this shot

A Wheatear. There are 5, I often see at Uphill in Somerset/UK. They always lookout to sea, when they feel threatened they hide amongst the rocky terrain below them.

Very nice work Pcousins, especially with the 2X TC. Not easy.

Thank You Larry,

I'm finding myself using the 2xTC (III) all the time now just to get the reach I need.

For Stability I use a Gitzo GM5561T and Wimberley II Gimbal Head, this combination works so well for me.

The 1st Capture below is of a Buflehead Duck which was in a small pond in a very wooded area. The 2nd picture is a Wood Duck again in a shaded/shadowed wood.

Hi All,
Merv from Oz..
I have always wanted to join this site just always had difficulty with the log in and register..
Anyway today I finally managed to join up.. A bit about me I started doing photography three years ago and soon after I started I purchased the 500mm mk ii and thus would consider myself a weekend warrior although I only managed to get out once a month.
Today I have sold my 500 for 7700$ AU as having a toddler I wont have as much time for this type of photography, I have purchased myself a 100-400mm mk ii to go with my 1dx mk ii for when I get the itch to shoot some birds.. Anyway here is a contribution from me, some of my fav pics taken over the last couple of years..

Cheers,

Merv
