They are composites. The backdrops here in Dallas leave something to be desired. I used this shoot as a chance to practice different editing techniques and to practice dropping in a background.

When I do a composite, I try to find a backdrop that matches the original as much as possible. Both the mountain background and the sky in the original car photos are very blue. That makes the reflections on the car match. I also do a lot of editing over both photos to make them match. This set happen to work very well, but it doesn't always work that way. Here are a couple more. One with the original background and one with clouds added in.
