This one for this week is more of a story about stupidity than a photo. Although a photo is included. The wife and I were on vacation this week. One of our many stops was the Cradle of Forestry in Pisgah National Forest. Walking along taking photos of things I found interesting and spending some much needed time away from work and with the wife. When I spotted these mushrooms at the base of a tree. So I took the photo and went about my way. Made the round in the park and on the way back out, looked in the direction of the mushrooms. What the H@LL?!! Someone had destroyed them:cry: Looked like someone had pulled the tops off of them or stepped on them. I was sooooooooooo pissed, I did not even take a photo of it. Naturally on the way back to the cabin for the night , I wished I would have. Some people!vmad

But anyhow, here is a photo of the now long gone mushrooms

So, I thought I should also post a shot of the crow on the pole, preening. And that in a really neck-twisting pose. :-P

A pointy antenna. (My wife and I just returned from a week in Barcelona and while there we visited the Olympic Park and many other sites. This is the Torre Telefónica used to transmit television coverage of the 1992 Summer Olympics Games in Barcelona. The tower is 136 m tall (446 ft), and represents an athlete holding the Olympic Flame).

I agree, needless destruction is stupid. The villain may have been an animal, though, or an unsupervised small child. I liked your Pisgah waterfall.

Thanks. Parsnips are underrated. They cook up like carrots but have a more interesting flavor, at least if you've grown tired of carrots.

We got some Precipitation, which gave me an opportunity to observe, as usual, how hard manual focus is on the G15. Some of the drops bear upside-down tree images. This is a color photo, although it hardly looks it.

Wow, I'm impressed with all the new contributions. Pete's waterfall, fotoi's Pointy Antenna, Stina's adorable Pepper, Benitoite's Prowler, that's good work! And even some simple water droplets on a window are cool because of the reflection in them!

OhLook, this pic wouldn't be totally out of place in G&N!

Why is the pic not showing up as a thumbnail?

Interesting, I sensed a kind of eroticism about it, which I can't explain. The shapes suggest waist-hips-legs, but I think there's more to it than that. No one else has mentioned this.

Why is the pic not showing up as a thumbnail?

I don't know. I quoted my post and did get the thumbnail.

Yes, saw that at first look. Buttocks too of course. It does have a certain sensual quality. Maybe you and I spend too much time in G&N.

Why is the pic not showing up as a thumbnail?

I don't know. I quoted my post and did get the thumbnail.

That's odd. Why would it not show when I quote but does when you do?
