I have two studio abstract images of the same subject below. I am undecided which one to submit for an open camera club competition. Can you please advise on either colour or mono, or neither! Thanks.
Edit: forgot to add they it will be a projected digital image onto a screen.

Color! It has a good complementary counterpoint.

The color image is much better IMO. It depicts 3D, conferred in part by the color of the more distant strips. The B&W version shows shapes, but they are conflicting.

Maybe to some the B&W version would be more "arty"...

Colour. In the mono one the black strips merge with the black shadows behind them too much, making it hard to see the shapes properly.

I guess I'm going to be the one guy that prefers the B&W. Is the competition open or is there a theme?

It is an open PDI competition, colour or mono. In the past I have had success with b/w images which I think is my choice in this case, but I am dealing with external judges who can be very subjective. My wife prefers the colour and she is inevitably right on everything .... of course! ;-)a

Thanks anyway, I shall have to make a decision soon.

Well, to me the B&W has more mystery to it. Then again, how I see images is often contrary to most.
