Had the camera for a few days now. My hesitation about the 5DSR was the potential for moire, so I have been taking pictures of different materials (men's suits, wedding dresses) and this morning shot some various materials around the house (clothing, pillows, etc). Today's samples all look clean.

I used the 100 L macro on a tripod.

Images were shot in raw, loaded into LR, had 100L profile correction and default sharpening added and then saved with zero modifications.

If you download the files and zoom into 3:1 with LR, the detail is truly amazing.

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Took this picture while sitting out at a cafe yesterday.
Because of all the blacks on the bike, I thought it would be a good image to see shadow detail.
The lens was a 70-200 F4 IS shot handheld at 1/200, ISO 160, F9
Some crazy detail in the 3:1 zoom in in LR including a crystal clear serial number that I had no idea was there.
The image was not shot to the right to benefit the shadow detail.
Image has profile correction and standard sharpening.

As a person who owns both a 5DSR and a A7Rii, I would encourage you to look at a Sony sensor for landscapes. For auto focus, for event reliability, purchase a Canon or Nikon.
