Well it's not like the Feather River is in my backyard. It is a two and a half hour drive for me, which is a long way, but I enjoy making a day of it a couple of times a year :-)

i used to be pretty close to it at Beale AFB but its not even in my time zone anymore (im north of Detroit now)

The Coal train usually makes a single run daily. The other trains use bio diesel for power. (No smoke)

Man....that's about a screwy looking thing. Don't believe I've ever seen one built like that. ^

Incline engine were designed so the water in the boiler was close to level.

My uncle gave me his 1957 vintage Lionel trains about 20 years ago. This is the first time I set it up and ran it.

On a rainy day in the Mojave Desert, a westbound train works up grade through the switchbacks at Klondike as it heads toward Ash Hill. in the background, an eastbound stack train is stopped.
