Something appropriate from Caernarfon Castle, North Wales.

Martin, super pics, excellent colours - good lens.

I recently got new 24-105 L IS. Hardly tested it yet though. Probably weather not suitable.

Hope you get some nice weather to test your new lens. I thought it had been good weather!?

Cats woke me at silly o'clock this morning so rather than waste the time I grabbed the camera and shot down to Hadleigh Castle for the sunrise, not brilliant at landscapes not really my thing but quite happy with these. 5DmkIII 24-70 2.8 mkII

I went to see Steve Boltz Bolton on friday night he was a member of Atomic Rooster and played as part of The Who's tour band as well as a session musician for David Bowie, Belinda Carlisle, Paul Young ( four albums ), Keith Richards, Davis Gilmore to name a few. If you get a chance go see him.

Hi all

Haven't been here in a while as I've been busy with the new job (promotion) so the photography has suffered a little. The Xmas break has allowed me to get out a bit more and I took the opportunity to book a 1-1 day with Dorset based LPOTY 2015 winner Andy Farrer.

Great day out (not cheap but worth every penny).

This is an 8 shot pano of Corfe Castle taken just before the sun came up Thursday morning. Used a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 and panned the camera in portrait then stitched in LR. Used the editing techniques that Andy taught me as that was where my photography was really lacking.

Be interesting to see what you all think.

The 24 - 105 is still the main walk about lens ............... its just at times its not quite wide enough

Now all I need is for the fog to go

Hi again all. Just found this site again so I call in. Hope you are keeping well.

Looking with interest at the 5DIV. But the pixel count looks a bit low to me. I am more interested in the 5DS R as I am interested in the 50 m pix sensor. Has anyone on this thread got one yet to comment on.
Just waiting for the new 24-105 f4L mkII be available, can't wait to get my hands on it. Had it on pre order for weeks now. The 100-400 L mkII was a great upgrade- I feel sure this will be.

Hi Ray

I read your post with interest as I was in the same boat, torn between the 2. I eventually went with the Mk4 as its a better "all-rounder".

I have just spent a day with a guy called Andy Farrer. Friend, Pro landscape TOG and more to the point, Canon Ambassador. His opinion?...........

"The 5D4 is a better camera not only because of it's better low-light capability but also the files are so much cleaner that the final results are far superior".
During our day together on Thursday, we swapped cameras several times during the day and all in all, I'm glad I went with the Mk4 over the S or Sr.

Not to spill the beans but wait until the 5DSr Mk2 arrives.....50Mp but with the Mk4 file handling and low-light performance bolted on. It's being developed as we speak but the price point will be close to that of the 1Dx Mk2!!

Now.....Where's my credit card :-).

oooh! is that the f4? Has been on my wish list for a while, since getting FF and having used a rented 10-22 on the older 7D on a Venice trip...............I did take the 24-105 but never used it.

WA lenses give you a different "view of the world" ;)

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p
