My youngest granddaughter was about to arrive in this world and on the way to the hospital (50 miles away) I stopped by a local lake and took this image for a "The weather was like this..." photo. :)

I swear that's the Pacific Ocean!!! Hehehehe... Underneath Huntington Beach Pier in SoCal... Long exposure scenery during the morning's high tide... 1DX + 24LII + Stacked Lee Filters (Big Stopper, 0.9 ND, and 105mm CPL)... Almost 15-stops combined!!! ISO 100, f/13 @ 4 minutes and 30 seconds exposure... Pardon the subtle focus-shift with the pier's edges... The tripod was being slammed by incoming waves...

;)

I visited Clevedon, UK today. It was very busy and I could not find a parking place on the street for a quick visit. I was heading back out of town when I spotted a place by the kerb and I was high above the town by then. Keen to try my Tamron at 300mm again I got a few shots off between the trees and roof tops. I hope it makes a change from the up close shots that we usually see in this thread. That's what I was hoping to get!! :D

At first I was a little annoyed that the shot down the pier has been upset by the addition of the wheelchair access lift. I shouldn't be as my wife occasionally needs to use hers. However, I find that this shot, cropped to 1x1 to remove buildings and cars, is quite pleasing to me. Clevedon Pier again. Same day as earlier shot, but after the crowds had gone.
