My first outing with the camera in 2017. This is a HDR shot taken as the sunset in the Peak District, England:

I knew I should have gone out yesterday! The mist was down around Blackburn and now, seeing these great pics, I am kicking myself. Glad to see you are still seeing Britain well. :D

The Severn estuary with the second crossing bridge as seen from the English side of the first crossing bridge. Taken using my new Tamron.

A superb use of HDR. It looks correct and I can feel the chill. Great pic.

Three from New Years Day

There was a very famous and prolific painter in Broken Hill in central Australia, named Pro Hart. During much of the 20th century he made a very comfortable living painting stylised outback landscapes. So much so he owned a Rolls Royce he hand painted in his distinctive style. This photo reminds me very much of his paintings. See here (external link) and here (external link).

Another two from Natural Arch at Springbrook National Park in South East Queensland. The first is an HDR image taken with my Samyang 14mm about an hour before sunset, and the second one is the same location 3 hours later, with glow worms lighting up the roof of the cave :-)
