Wasn't that a Simon & Garfunkel song? :)

Close, but not quite, Ian. ߘ very nice shot, but too cold for my tastes.0ߘActually, it was in the mid-twenties here last weekend, coldest in years. Lot of the tropical foliage took a hit.

Mid 20s, yikes Rog, you went down there to escape those temperatures! I hear SW Florida was cold too for a week or so but has warmed back up again. I head down in 2 weeks. Thanks for checking in! Here's one more from yesterday.

1 thing I miss being down here in winter is the BE opportunities at the Mississippi River, lock and dam 14. Ever check out posts for there? My wife's sister is in Rotunda, Florida, wherever that is and sees a BE on its nest during her bike rides. Never heard of any around here.
And we're back in the 60s and 70s now, so all is well!

Yea, L&D 14 looks like a great spot. My spot up here (where I got the above 2 shots) is good and 5 minutes from home, but not the numbers of eagles as L&D 14 or even the cattle beef farm, which is an hour away. I also enjoy stopping off at Conowingo Dam on my way south, not far off I95 in Maryland. Activity level is low when I go by Conowingo but it's still an interesting place. You know, the whole reason I picked Fort Myers/Cape COral to go to in the first place, several years ago, was to see the nest site of Ozzie and Harriet. Ozzie died last year, and the new guy is named M15, and they have 1 baby in their new nest in the same tree. It's cool that I now know many of the "nest watchers" there, and the viewing is quite good. At -15C here today (but sunny) I am really looking forward to getting on my way south in 2 weeks time!

(Rotunda is not far from where I go, it's near Englewood Beach, about 45 minutes away from where I'll be).

how do foxes, eagles, and you live in the that stuff. I complain when it dips below 50. I really like the second shot

LOL sometimes I wonder about that too Bob. The cold weather keeps me indoors a lot more, the eagles and foxes seem to manage somehow. It's been a weird winter, extreme cold for a week then a mild week when everything melts. Got this guy today.

And I like this one with his wing brushing on the ice.
