Well I talked to Canon today..... they said they found nothing wrong with the camera even though they admit the photo samples I sent from 4 different lenses did not look in focus. In the end, they are refusing to give me a new camera body or refund my money. They did insinuate I did not know how to use the camera. I reminded them I have owned a 5D, a 5D2, two 5D3s plus several other high end Canon bodies over the past 16 years & never had any problems with them.
So any suggestions on what to do next? I have spoken twice with a high end Canon Executive.
I had a problem with my 7D2. On its third trip back, I included a long letter with details like you mentioned: previous and current Canon cameras, experience, etc.
At the end of the letter, I mentioned that I would be sending the camera back to them again and again until it was fixed as I had already purchased a 1D IV that was performing spectacularly. That won't work for you but you could tell them you will continue to send the camera back in if it isn't performing up to the standards you've come to expect from Canon based on years of positive experience.
It probably wouldn't be a bad thing to mention POTN. You've been an active member here for years.....and have lots of photos to show you are a great photographer.
My 2 cents.... I also joined CPS and found them a bit more hmmmmmm interested in my problems. You might already be a member.
I hope to hear that things worked out in the end... it is frustrating.
