Beautiful shot! Just saw my first of the year snowy this morning-no luck on photos. But it did solidify my opinion that we're seeing the same individuals every year. For the third year in a row it was an adult male, within a 1/2-3/4 mile radius of previous years.

That made me laugh too !
Being eaten would certainly put a damper on the vacation !
Our group was 17, plus the guide ! Way too many. It's a bit of a trade off though, my wife isn't a photographer and just enjoys the travel side.
I do admit, a lot of the time I wish I was travelling with like-minded photographers like many on this forum.

lol I know Dave... I shoot with a body these days, and it does make it more fun but its not as easy to get all those feet under control. Of which I think is the hardest thing for people to do. Stand where you are I mean. I call it fancy feet. My wife does carry a camera but she has started to wish to stay in the heat. Need to change that. But then I don't ever really get to far from home.

Nice capture of this white blackbird.
I've seen them mixed black and white, but I've never seen one totally white.

Thanks Weja, I've seen it twice now on my patch,....I've seen a few patchy white blackbirds but this is 100% pure white. I informed the RSPB and was told that it is leucistic, and not an albino It has a genetic mutation that prevents pigments from being deposited normally in its feathers. They said it is very rare as the mother blackbird would usually throw it out of the nest and they are very unlikely to survive as they are very vulnerable to predators, because of their bright white plumage.

I've been photographing birds for nearly 20 years and it's the 1st I've ever seen....It's funny because in the same week I saw a pure white lapwing amongst 100+ other lapwings in a field very far out only visible through binoculars.

Another NOT SO GOOD photo as it was very far away and the photo is heavily cropped.
