Loving this, really loving this. First impressions are big scenes and many things can be made to look not fishy if you have a strong horizontal that is flat and nothing close, really only edges left and right are fishy like first shot, and the fish can be turned on like second shot with close objects. I am LOVING this lens. I will try to get a defish ear and see if it will shoot bathrooms with some editing, but I don't even care. This was a solid $200 spent in photography.

This mornings market trip was everything I bought into Fuji for. First off, I would never carry a 6d around a farmers market, just so obtrusive. Fuji, almost as seamless as a cell phone, almost. So shots of something I would never shoot, casual fun of Fuji and the childish fun of FE, just awesome. I will definitely bring the 23 there in the future as there were some shots there, but who cares? It is Fuji, so minimal, easy and fun, there literally is always next time. And that is a feeling I never had with having the dslr out, only I wish I got that or had that lens on for that.

Everything is relative.

Hope you don't mind my posting this of your shot, just so you can see what fisheye-hemi can do to the vertical lines. Welcome to the 8mm Fish club.

Don't mind at all......SOLD on the hemi. Maybe I can get away with this inside. From years of seeeing that circle look and massive curves and vignetting, this lens is really seeming like it behaves well with composition.

Like this has zero distortion removal or calming (All my Fe shots have been only messed with on normal things like shadows and highlights and bw/sat etc.) Really, it shoots big areas very well.

It's a good lens alright, not so fishy just stupid wide [once you keep the horizon level and centred I guess.

This one is from a wedding last year came in handy with 5 guys in a car, but for this I am thinking the 12mm will be perfect.

So the 14 came today and my gas is over for some time.

Immediate thoughts:

It is thankfully pretty wide. I think that I am going to get lucky and while it is not 12 and I imagine 12 being super wide, it is very wide and I shot my downstairs hole of a bathroom and got the whole 36" vanity from the toilet area 3 ft away, so I think that I will mostly be covered for the size rooms I will shoot.

It is pretty damn sharp. I wasn't worried about sharpness, but it is always nice when a lens is clean.

The close focus, I don't recall ever looking it up or caring, but this is very noteworthy, it focuses super close and that will be awesome for creative shots. As a bonus, close at 2.8 is as fun as fast and wide gets.

Feel free, the thread's never been so busy. I lurk a lot but rarely post, Fuji threads dont seem to gather any pace for some reason.

Have you read my posts? I feel like that is the last impression one would have of my new Fuji kit from everything I have said on here, so I am a little confused by that?

Your cat looks identical to one of mine, that is crazy usable BW for 12800 ISO.

I have found I am shooting half Jpeg and half raw with Fuji depending on the casual nature of the shots. The in camera film options are pretty killer but I am having hard time finding a color one I like the best. The Chrome one fits my eye well. The velvia everyone loves is sorta hit or miss in that the saturation can be a bit much.

I LOVE the NIK plug ins, and especially silver EFX and Analog EFX. I feel like NIK analog and fuji were made for each other.
