Selective Color

The one thing I knew going into this is that I wanted to do it differently, and probably with film. Then I started thinking about doing it in black and white and maybe with crayons, perhaps coloring just part of a picture or something like that. When I came across the Jackie Robinson picture in one of my coloring books, I knew I was on to something. What's more "selective color" than baseball's color barrier?
Shot with my Canon EOS IX on Fuji Nexia 800 aps film (expired 05.2006)

I also shot a digital version, but I think I like the crunchier film version better.

Just read an article stating selective color is an overdone photographic cliche and to be somewhat different one should select a color in the photo and not just an object of that color in the photo with all else in b&w. Thus, my attempt to be non-cliche:

I'm doing okay (living in my mud boots  ) but my horses are not impressed.
It also appears that California thought it was going to be in a drought forever because they have known about our reservoirs needing repair for years and now it's panic mode.
