Lots of firsts for me, not normally a still life guy, not a high key guy, and never focus stacked before.....

Interesting photo. Would you care to share your method used on this first focus stack? Rails? Turning focus ring? ????

I do have a chinese knock off of a branded focus rail, it's remarkable for the money, but I was in too much of a hurry with the kids to dig it out, so I manually focused by hand using live view to get each obvious 'depth' in focus, 7 shots in total, then was very careful to release the lens, let it stabilise, make sure there were no kids close, then use the remote release.

Just a natural curiosity.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like your method worked quiet well. Again...that's a nice image. ;)

Curious........Did you have one with the top of the tree and a little less foreground? Not being critical or a smart ass.........just curious...

Possibly on digital, this was a film shot and I only took one photo of that scene.

I only asked as I seem to always look for different looks. Especially with B&W as we don't rely on color for interest. Just what were you using.........film wise?
