Did the Eye_AF actually work, and did you use it, with the Sigma 85 / MC-11 combo?

Thanks

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Crap... hard act to follow ^^^^^ that is amazing bryzf1

Sooo before anyone asked the client didn't want the kids to smile. They were going to a fashion look.

Ive been advised on the forum for a while now to match my strobe to the ambient light. I taped in a cto gel in the octa and it may have been too warm?

My light fell over twice bc it was so windy... it seems like the light is relatively sturdy but I wonder how much abuse it can take or what is the most likely thing to bust first inside it...

I like yours too!

Your attempts at destruction testing your Rovelight are very public spirited.:-) If you desire a more stable stand, consider MSE's 387032 Digital Baby stand. It has a footprint D of 128 cm, a leveling leg (you like sloping ground) and can take 145 lbs around the column at the apex of its tripod base. It has the stability of a small tree. Cheers

Thanks for posting this. I have a few different light stands but haven't found the ideal one for outdoors - this just might be it.

Solid shot! If you don't have anyone to hold your light stand on a windy day, bring more sand bags! :-)

Another option is tent pegs and Bungi cords.

Yup! It works with eye-af and that's what I used the whole session. Love the MC-11 plus Sigma 85.

Thank you

That alone is a huge plus about the lens

From yesterday. Had some issues where I couldn't control the power from the R2 Tx. Ended up ISO400 trying to balance flash with ambient.

A little more flash. Modifier is SP Systems 37" Octa.

A lot more flash as I was in the shade and no power control. Lowered hot bg here on the left side by using LR gradient. Maybe I should have gone 1/4000 shutter.
