Outside of everything I don't know about this pistol, here's what I do know. Based on information online, it is a first series pistol and the serial number on the frame and internal parts is 11822.

There is so much that I don't know that I've decided to contact someone knowledgeable of the Colt Woodsman to find out more.

One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

According to Colt, DubR is correct. That serial number indicates a Woodsman manufacture date of 1919.

I think he might have some mismatched parts. Check out the first paragraph under the heading "Variants".

Good catch. A Pre-Woodsman with the Woodsman stamping. Still a very nice shooter.
Now back to our previously programed program. ;-)a

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Great looking CZ-75. That's one gun that is sorely missing form my collection, and I should probably rectify that situation.

I know what you mean, Jeff. I'm pining for a 75B high-polish stainless.
It'll be my barbeque gun !
