Great work
Graham

Thank's, it was -20c something and the wind bit just a bit, so bright with the sun reflecting off the snow I was sure there was going to be some burn here and there. I was not able to see the meter with my glasses dark and the brightness so I used my spidey senses and found there was no burn in any image.

They do that when they inbound the ball. They lift up the players. This is my fourth year shooting the championship game of the Rugby tournament and I am still learning the rules.

I have the same combo and use them much the same as you do...

I just added a 5D4 and am giving it a shakedown to see where it will fit in.

I also have the same combo. The 7DII/100-400II is used for wildlife, and the 6D with various lenses for everything else. Just wondering what your 5D4 does that this combo cannot? I am asking because I am thinking of getting the 5D4, but that would be to replace the 6D.

It depends on what you want to do with the 6D. I have that combo of a 6D and a 7D2 and I love the specific capabilities of both. I use the 7D2 for sports, birding and anything where the extra focusing capabilities are a benefit. But I use my 6D for pretty much everything. I use it for portrait work, concert work, landscapes, general walk around use.
The ability of the 6D to focus in low light and its high ISO is well beyond anything the 7D2 can accomplish. So I consider it the best of both worlds with this combo.

I've been after a 6D "deal" ever since I sold the 5D3 to buy my current combo. Saw one for sale on Gumtree with only 1600 shutter count for A$800 and got straight on the phone. I missed it by just 10 minutes and the guy only lived 3 houses down! How's that for coincidence and bad luck! :-(

After shooting St Patricks day wide shots, with a 2nd body, most of them in shade from trees, (my son's 100d) I realised how much I really miss full frame and quick focus and the 6D is "realisable" with me being on basic pension.

Wait a few months. Once the 6D2 comes out you will either be ready to pick one of them up, or used prices on the original 6D wil drop significantly.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Well I broke down on a local deal on a 6D instead of buying a second 7DmkII. I was in Sam's Club on Sunday afternoon and saw a bundle kit with a 24-105 IS lens, an extra battery, sd card, hdmi cable, Canon bag for $1,299.00. I had been looking online and what I saw for this even on the Sam's website was $1,899.00. I had to go today and pick one up at that price. I paid and they couldn't find on and said they were out, I was bummed. The mgr. went to check on something and came back saying they had one left after all. I'm thrilled at this buy.

I bought one a while back from Canon refurb. I had buyer's remorse at first and was wondering what I was thinking, but the thing grew on me. A lot. That is a great deal. It doesn't have the AF capabilities of my 7Dii but it sure takes nice photos!!! Great sensor. And a champion of high ISO, I use it a lot for live music photography and it really shines. And outdoors for scenics and wildlife (that aren't flying by at 100mph) it is sweet.

I have been using the 7D2 for a couple of years, plus I have the 6D. The 7DII is used mostly "for reach" when shooting wildlife. But I am thinking of selling it and the 6D and getting the 5D4. The 7D2 has a 20 mp sensor. The 5D4 - 30 mp. That means that I can crop the full frame image down to the same resolution as the 7D2 and still have about the same "pixels on target" number. Yes, the 7D2 has (I think) more focus cases, and a little bit faster FPS than the 5D4, but since I do not shoot very fast flying birds, and no sports at all, it will probably be good enough. And that will allow me to have only one camera when I travel.

Anybody see any issue with my reasoning?
