I went on a volunteer trip with some high schoolers and wanted to do a photo series. I went light with my 5dm2, 50mm, 35mm and two 580s incase I wanted to get fancy. This is What I came up with.

As expected from a pro, all the technical aspects are spot on - use of light, composition, depth of field are all controlled well. Apart from a couple of exceptions, the facial expressions communicate sullen disinterest or even hostility?

Maybe that was your intent, but it doesn't help to engage the viewer.

Blue shirt in the 2nd from the last needed to dial is back a little? Haha I was looking for light and tweaking poses but expression is really hard for me to tweak. Maybe I just dont have a good vocabulary for that kind of thing. Most of the kids went for trying to look "cool"
