Got to try a few lenses today at the photography show, the 85mm 1.4 sigma was very nice. Looked at the 135, my lord its a big lens, the 24-70 looked nice though.

Edit: this was shot with the Sigma 85mm @ 1.4

I saw this juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk checking out my bird feeder on a dark cloudy morning. I grabbed my !DX2 and got off 1 shot as he took off from his perch. I had no time to change camera settings and was amazed that I was able achieve focus. The low light capability of the 1DX2 is awesome!

Wow. All your photos have a surreal quality, Nitin! Like scenes from a Tarsem film! I wish the power poles or masts or whatever weren't there though.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

oh wow.. thanks Sam. Yeah, it seems things are moving in the right direction. I am of the opinion that the poles add to the character of the scene so I didn't remove them.

Nitin, can you share where this was taken?

That was taken at a place called Sambhar, about an hour drive from Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.
