the FE 85 1.8, seems to have made the Batis "obsolete" not in the sence that batis is bad... but not worth the premium. I have the GM 85, but if I was buying a lens today I would go for FE 85.

I would have probably bought the FE if it had been an option at the time even though I love the Batis. The FE is great value it seems. I was thinking of selling the Batis and picking up the FE to release some funds that I can put towards another lens but will have to weigh that one up as I will lose a bit with ebay and paypal fees

I believe this is a Commelina communis, or Asiatic dayflower.

There was a single orange flower in this tree. I don't know what it is yet.

I need a way of charging my Sony batteries from a vehicles 12v battery without having the actual camera plugged in. can anyone recommend a 12v charger?

Awesome background too! Have you tried a bit of a "dreamy" look (although it does obliterate the bg somewhat)?

Thanks! and thanks for the suggestion. Here's my take on the dreamy look:

I use something similar to this (can't find the one I have on amazon any more). It's a dual charger with a micro USB input, so you'll be able to use in in a vehicle using any USB car charger.

As an added benefit...you can keep a USB power pack in your bag and charge your batteries via this charger inside your bag too. I did that in Disney.

And about 80 bucks shipping...

yo travis, I'm a guinea pig as it stands :p

cost me $224 shipped, cv 10 adapter, 82, 77, 72, 67x2 rings, special edition holder. Not bad for a complete holder system. If I wasnt using the CV10, price would be much less with their other holders, but I think you need the laser version to work with ultra ultra wides. I spoke with the bombo guy, so it eases concern a bit, his english isnt very good, but I got my questions answered. I'm hoping it works out well, been wanting to shoot the CV10 with better water movement..... will need to get myself an ND 1.8 as well, looks like I'm back to square filters....

Awaiting your review...if the gasket truly is a problem...its a problem...all my filters are gasketed....

Gaskets are a total disaster on my Laowa filter holder. Really comes down to the wide FOV of the lens against the smallness of the 100mm filter...very limited tolerances. It also matters if the filter is not square to the camera. If it's rotated the filter holder itself will vignette in the image.

The Laowa filter holder is "built like a tank", which is not the best thing imo. Unlike the Lee holder, its fabricated out of solid metal, and it makes it really heavy. Hope that Bombo holder is lighter.
