Wow, just looking through the last couple of pages.. I am thoroughly excited to get my "new to me" 60D w/ 18-200mm (tracking for today).. Hopefully I'll feel compelled to post a lot more than what I have w/ my 40D - it has served me well, but the opportunity arose to take a step into this decade and I am sure glad I did (judging by everything I've read/seen thus far)..

I LOVE my 60D, especially the swivel LCD screen! I would never buy another DSLR that does NOT have the swivel LCD screen! :-)

Can I ask what you worked with before the 60D?? After reading a lot of comparisons (on the internets) I was convinced that the 7D was going to be my next "upgrade".. mainly because of the feel coming from the beefier 40D/ 50D series & the shutter speed was a small concern. I saw some comparisons of the 60D to the feel of lower level Rebels.. but this deal was too good to pass up, plus it is gripped if I want the bulkier feel.. it anything I figure this will bridge me to a 7DII in a few years.. I've come to be in peace with my "behind the times" status.. lol

The camera I had before the 60D, was the Canon XSi
Before that was a Canon Rebel 35MM film

I am not a Pro, just take occasional photos when I am in the mood or if I am at the right place at the wrong time ;-)a

Yep... Them are some doozies right there! Somebody might claim that they're oversaturated but with your subject matter they look just right to me. 8-)

Comment

So,above I did a copy/paste of the info related to the butterfly. I agree, it does seem a touch over saturated, but I deliberately did what I did to show the possibilities of our 60D cameras. There are several adjustments that can be made in the camera to accomplish different things. For the butterfly the main thing I did was crop. What made the biggest difference was using the flash (removes almost all shadows/dark spots), WHITE BALANCE compensation, having the saturation and contrast adjusted up, inside the camera, and as I recall just a hint of sharpness adjustment on the computer.

I see many pics here on the 60D thread and they look like they're shot in full auto mode - doing so robs the shooter of so much potential. So my whole point is what is seen is just about 96% SOOC :) My plan is to show more, SOOC, with zero post work. Ive discovered using the flash, even in super brite daylight, makes a BIG difference!! So, happy shooting to all!
