I had my first proper day out with my MKIV yesterday. I went to the London St Patrick's day parade. Although it wasn't a traditional as it used to be i was very impressed with the camera, and im really starting to warm to it now.
I had thought my 70-300L was a bit off when i tested it at home but for moving subjects it seems ok.
Not great shots but i did struggle to find interesting subjects.

I really like the way this turned out with the lens you used plus the 1600 ISO. Is this full sized or did you crop it somewhat?

(It looks like you were getting a bit of rain also. I can see some droplets on the accordion.)

Love these shots. I cant wait to take my MKIV to Comic Con this year. I also love using my 135L at these events, but i think mine needs a bit of MFA on my MKIV. Nothing i cant sort out.

Thanks man, you will have a great time, although I was at a photographic convention, having comic con next to us makes me want to go next year to that alone. Some great photos to be had.

Thanks. There was some cropping but not a lot. Mainly just getting rid of some of the messy background.
Yes, it had been raining. As my camera is fairly new i had a rain jacket on it. I felt a bit silly standing next to others who had less equipment and weren't worried about the rain, but after a bad experience with my mkiii I wasn't taking any chances unless I have to. I know the mkiv is better sealed, but even so.........

Yeah, Comic con is great fun, and everyone is so into having their photos taken that its a pleasure to go to.
I was at a vintage car show last year and the adjacent hall had a comic con going on, I couldn't wait to get out of the first hall lol.

First time I have ever seen an osprey with one of these. They usually nab striped bass out of the bay
