As some will know, our pussy cat is named after me (I play online computer games as Bilbo) as well as after the wonderful hobbit from Tolkien...

Here he is today, playing in the grass...

One or two wolf spider females starting to peep out as the sun makes an appearance (that'll be brief...) and their were a couple on the fence and three on the wall of the house. This one must have her home in the small airvent in the wall.

Got an estimate from Canon for my 70d issue. It died after giving err 80 few times. They are asking for $455 to fix main board. Bought in Nov,2014. No warranty coverage left. Thinking of declining repair and get back camera. Not sure if I can sell it for parts. I am planning to get cheap rebel or M3 with adapter. Is it a good idea?

Thanks

I contacted Canon. They are going to give 20% discount on repair. It is still around $400 to fix it. I am not ready to put $400 towards repair. I don't understand why 2 years old camera has a problem with main board.

Most major camera brands have a better often longer warranty than Canon. I like Canon bodies but their warranty and service can suck.

My visit to the California Redwoods , such a beautiful place, walking among those giants , there is no words to express the feeling.

Canon has 1 year warranty. I could have approached credit card vendor for warranty if it is within 2 years of purchase. It is couple of months over 2 year. I still couldn't believe something failed with main board.
