POTN G-series Speed Challenge #631 - Curves

Your compositions should show a curve or curves as the most prominent feature. Curves can mean part or the whole of a circle or arc or ellipse - they are common everywhere both natural and man made. But please NO HUMANS - I'm not aiming to judge a "Ms. POTN" beauty contest.;-)a
***************
RESULTS!

Thanks to those who entered - all of them interesting shots. Some comments - feel free to differ!

M_Six - Parking: Like it - all curves! Wonder how many people have leaned back a bit too far when opening their trunk?

Trumper - Newquay foggy night: Good job capturing the slightly scary feel of a deserted road curving down to a lonely waterfront late on a foggy night. I'd be tempted to try cloning out the lit window and white wall on the right to make it even spookier - I enjoy fiddling even with good shots like this.

Car - On the Lookout: Nice capture - and maybe better still if the guy had been a tad shorter so that he was all inside the curve or leaning on the rail like the child - what do you think?

JimAskew - Go Pass the Sun and Turn West to Eden: As an old pilot, this had me wondering what the aircraft were doing - and also hoping you didn't fry your camera sensor. A tricky shot!

OhLook - Colombia boa taking a walk: All curves - and on your carpet?? Do tell us the story.

WINNERS

Gold: M_Six for the parking garage

Silver: Trumper for his spooky road

Bronze: Tied between Car's lookout and OhLook's boa

Congratulations to the medalists! Thanks to teekay for hosting and to everyone for letting me see your shots.

All curves - and on your carpet?? Do tell us the story.

This 7-foot, 25-pound boa constrictor, named Lumpy, lives at a gym and is the owner's pet. The gym was closed yesterday afternoon, but the owner lives very near and agreed to meet us there. He took Lumpy out of the vivarium and let him roam (which he does slowly) while I photographed curves. Timing was important because Lumpy tends to straighten out when released. The lighting was difficult, and I had to be careful about where my toes were.

I tried various angles. A portrait:

You can see that Lumpy's nose isn't all there. Lumpy was a rescue snake. His previous owners, 25 years ago, tried to feed him a rat without taking all the proper precautions, and the rat attacked him. White patches that interrupt the pattern on his back in the overhead shot are scars.

:-) I have to say as soon as i saw M sixes carpark photo i knew that would be a higher bar setter.
I enjoyed all of them and have a soft spot for the Boa as we own 4 corn snakes.Feeding live food to snakes in the UK is illegal unless it is essential ,ie in a zoo on specialist breeds.Feeding live food as seen on Lumpy is not always pain free for the predator.
Well done everyone :)

Thanks for the nod, teekay. That's a very iconic bldg called Marina Bay right on the Chicago River. Two buildings, actually. Like the Flatiron Bldg in NYC, you can take endless shots of this complex from different angles and never get bored with the results.

Love the compression in your shot, Trumper. Nicely done.

Car's curvy window was cool, too. Love how the reflection completes the circle.

New contest is up.

Thanks for hosting teekay and for the 3rd tie ߘ,
I know what you mean about Gus's head, should have got him to take a step to the left, either that or duck down a bit!
I thought Mark had it in the bag this week, great capture.

Congratulations to medalists this week. I loved Trumper's foggy night photo...wonderful atmosphere :-)

A fun contest this week...my shot was made last week at Antelope Valley, CA. I suspect the curve was the result of winds aloft? I am happy to report my camera's sensor survived just fine. I made another 300+ shots with it after taking that one :p
