Post Your Photoshopped Before and After Images

great idea, but most don't even see it yet, its two times the same driver.

Here's an old photo of my dad circa the 50's. Still needs something, but I cleaned it up this far.

Good restoration.

I might run a noise reduction.....it'll reduce the grain. Increase contrast a little. I think it looks pretty good.

And perhaps change the background color so his skin tones don't fade into the background as much. Just my opinion of course. Otherwise I think you did a good job.

Thanks, I appreciate that. The one guy borrowed 8 grand for 'prop' money for the shoot.

My neighbor told me his grandmother only had one picture of herself that had been taken when she was a young woman, and it was cracked and scratched up. It had been molded onto a 1" diameter pin-back button (like the "I Like Ike" campaign buttons). He asked if I could restore it for her. I promised that I'd do my best. Here is what I managed to do with that tiny picture. After restoring it, I enlarged and printed before and after pictures for her, in a larger format than that tiny button. It's a shame she wasn't smiling - she still has a nice smile.

To start, I copied it by taking a bunch of pictures of it with my camera - a Nikon Coolpix E8800 (which isn't listed on the equipment lists on POTN, so I just randomly selected a Coolpix camera and listed exposure settings so I could post it in my gallery).

Exposure info.... Nikon Coolpix E8800 camera - 18mm - 1/38.6 Seconds - f:4.2 - ISO 50

Very nice work. Did you think about lightening the dark circles around her eyes and the dark areas around the corners of her mouth?

Thanks. I didn't want to alter it - just restore it to as nearly original as I could.

On January 27th, it was the 50th anniversary of the fire on Launch Pad 34 where Apollo 1 astronauts Grissom, White and Chaffee were killed in their capsule during a mission rehearsal. I had the honor of developing a photo / graphic for the back of the program that was printed for the memorial event.

I went out at dusk and took some pictures of the Pad 34 as it is today, and then superimposed a layered image of each of the astronauts as they had posed for publicity photos just a couple of weeks before the ill fated rehearsal.

Nice image. Is there a way to fade the bottom of the astronaut's photos a little smoother so there is not so obvious of a "selection line"?

Probably a good idea. Didn't have a lot of time though. I will remember your thoughts next time I have a similar project.
