realisticky I don't see a7II and a7rII being replaced till next year (or maybe even two years from now)

but a9r this year.

i still kind of want the a9, not for 20fps, but for dual card, faster buffer, faster writes (slow writes on a7rii can drive me crazy sometimes...), af joystick, the second dial on left, blackout free, 93% af coverage, all those are really nice..

Exactly. Everything about the a9 looks nice in terms of upgrades except the 20FPS is not needed for me. I am hopeful that the a9 being "only" 24MP will have great ISO performance.

Hah I'm not getting the a9. Part of the reason I started selling of gear was to free up some money for a second body, but the a9 is not for me. The I really need a supplementary body since the a7rII realistically does most of what I need. I really think the a6500 fits the bill for me.

There have been rumblings of a 70mp+ sensor for a while now so an a9r could really happen (there have been rumblings of an a9 for years, it finally just happened).

Wait, have you gotten the a6500 yet?

So, yesterday I decided to test the SR app shooting a scene with high DR, to see if I could expose for the highlights and then in post recover the shadows...impressed I am...+4EV results in very little to no noise, especially when compared to a standard frame raised that same +4...I think I have a new way to shoot scenes like this...

Since I've added the timelapse app, I want to experiment using it instead of SR because it supports the silent shutter. Of course it means doing the frame stacking in PS, so not as convenient as SR. The results should be similar though.

Thanks mate. I was looking at the ash color as well as I prefer the look of it. Why would you want the charcoal instead? Does it get dirty easily? I was thinking that the 20l could hold it all as well based on the pictures on PD web but not sure about the laptop as they claim up to 15" for the 20l and mine is 15,6" I need to find out if anyone has them in stock around here.

I initially wanted the charcoal color just because I thought it looked more manly... But I have absolutely no problem with ash color. It's very nice and suits me perfectly fine when I'm dressed for work or just out casually. Unfortunately I don't have under 17" laptop so can't try that for you.. You should definitely check the exact dimensions in real life or at least directly with PD to make sure 15.6" fits. Good luck.

Anyone need an LAEA4 or Sony 70-400 (first generation)? I think I'm going to get the new 100-400 and wanted to put it here first.

Hi David A (or Travis? or anyone else with CV12?), may I ask for your impressions on this lens? David you had (have?) both CV10 & CV12 right? As much as I absolutely LOVE 10mm FL, I was just not super pleased with its corner performances. It's ok for what it was since I would crop some parts of edges anyways, but I was hoping to not crop so much going forward to preserve as much MP as possible.. I guess I'm basically asking for corner performance between the CV10 and CV12.. Thanks in advance!

Anyone owned the Godox AD200? I wanna know how powerful it is compared to a speedlight like the Godox V860II.

Any reason you sold the 24-70?

Mainly because I prefer a fast 35 over a 24-70.

I have coverage on the wide and long end of the 24-70 with my primes.

hmm

Sony a7R II
Canon EOS 7D Mark II
Samyang AF 14 / 2.8 FE
Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L USM
Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM

= a9?

hmm option two

Sony A6300
Canon EOS 7D Mark II
Sony E 10-18mm f/4 OSS
Sony E 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 PZ OSS
Samyang AF 14 / 2.8 FE
Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM

option 1 could yield $4000-4200
option 2 could yield $3200-$3400

I am happy with mine, have not used it a lot yet, planning to use it some in the next couple days, can report back more then.
