I'd like to toss in my vote for the 58 1.4 as well, coming as a former 50L owner. I just got the lens 2 days ago and its really a beautiful lens. Despite reviews and thoughts on price, its really a great replacement for my beloved 50L. Feels the same as when I was shooting with the 50L, but I must say it feels sharper wide-open, contrary to what most reviews saying the opposite. Its a very niche lens and most won't see the value in spending $1K over the 50 1.4, but if you know why you'r getting it, then its worth every penny. The 85 1.4 is definitely next on my list. I tried it out in the store when I went to buy the 58 and was really impressed with the sharpness wide open and the bokeh was very smooth.
Looking at a couple of the better priced white market stores in my area the 58G is over 4 times the price of the 50/1.4G (e.g. $2.2+k vs $500+). Makes it a much harder value question IMO. I have no problem with anyone buying the lens though
