POTN G-series Speed Challenge #635 - Elegant

A dictionary definition: "Graceful, tasteful; of refined luxury". Something elegant - that's what your entry should show.

***************

RESULTS

I had expected maybe elegantly dressed ladies, expensive watches, swans, graceful sailboats etc. but, as usual, I was surprised by those of you who entered - thanks!

Some comments:

Trumper - Spitfire: No question that the Spit is a beautiful, classic aircraft. Is that the 2-seat trainer version?

Spoco57 - "It's A Doozy": This white beauty is a perfect example of elegant luxury, particularly being white. Make and year? Location?

Jim Askew - "Golden Elegance". Your title says it all. Nice shot although I think I would have removed the slightly distracting contrail.

corythosaurus - "Tulips". Tulips - beautiful, graceful flowers that would look even better in a more elegant vase.

Maureen Souza - "Alstromeria: Lilies: Truly elegant blooms.

WINNERS

#1 - Spoco's car
#2 - Jim's golden guy
#3 - Maureen's lilies

All yours, Spoco!

Congrats to Spoco & Jim! Teekay, I have been holed up over 2 weeks with bronchitis & while I am beginning to crawl out, I have zero oomph in me so I had to resort to my garden. Our wet winter has my Lillies at an all time enormous size & have bloomed twice as long as usual. Thanks for 3rd place.

Thanks to teekay for putting forth the subject,It was a tough one.

Thanks to the wet weather here all week i just didn't find time to get out and find something elegant!

So i hope to play this week.

Maureen I hear you, allergy season has been bad here and we have been wet wet for about 9 months now.
Its almost a jungle outside already.
Hope to get some sun and nicer days ahead..

Congratulations to Spoco57 and Maureen; and thanks for the 2nd place nod. Great contest Teekay and well judged. I loved the old car photo and was pretty sure it would be the winner...such elegance! :-)

I agree on the comment about the contrail. I should have erased it with PSCC tools.

Thanks again, Teekay for a great challenge. :-)

Congrats to Maureen and Jim and thanks for the challenge and the spot, Teekay.

Just back from a half-day power outage due to storms in our area. I'll get the new challenge up tomorrow morning if I can.

The car is a '31 Duesenberg. Some of the finest American autos ever built. This one was in the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit. As you may have noticed, I got a lot of photo's from the museum and I've been trying to work them into the topics. :)

I'll get the new challenge up as early as I can tomorrow.

Steve

:-) Another great thread and contributions ,very varied.I am not great at elegant but as soon as i saw the word i just thought "Spitfire" and i had a photo to hand.Yes it is a twin seat :)
It does seem that things designed years ago do seem to be more elegant than the mass produces stuff of today.
Well done everyone :)
