This Male Whitethroat had loads of attitude, for a small bird he had a loud voice.

Those tricolors in mating plumage are amazing. Nice capture.

Thanks!

Never seen one these, nice shot.

Thank you Sidknee, I counted 7 at Uphill in Weston Super Mare, on the hedges around the boat yard (Grid Reference ST315582) . Can't be all that far from you.

This is the female he was protecting...

Great Whitethroat shots, Paul. The two main problems I always have with these are (1) getting near enough and (2) getting the skulking b*****s showing in the open. Easier with a singing male, of course, but even so, you did marvellously with these.

Wow! What wonderful sharpness. Those feathers really stand out from the screen. Almost a 3D effect.

Like many, we go on a trip and come home with thousands of images-most to
never see the light of day....just trigger happy I guess.
Example last month Poof and I brought back 24K files from Florida :(
This shot from two years ago and never developed.

Thank You Jack, these whitethroats are use to dog walkers,....I was lucky, I didn't go looking for them I just stood still for 10 minutes ready and waiting and they just popped out and showed themselves.
