The last few years ours arrived the first week of May (eastern Idaho 5,260' elevation). This year there are few flowers but we put our feeders up today anyway.

Saw the first one about 10 minutes ago. Small fast moving female not around long enough to I.D. Then suddenly there were 2. Hooray winter is finally over here.

There is a male( or males) Ruby Throat making quick, infrequent visits now. Plopped my butt down outside and after about 2 hours, had 1 missed visit() and maybe some minor success. Stay tuned.^

Have some fighting at the feeders now. More are showing up here. Still only seeing males.

As I said in earlier post, saw my 1st, a male, on May 2. Yesterday, May 12, spotted the 1st female.
Activity gradually picking up-also in a spell of nice weather.
