Below are most of the attributes that define fashion editorial to me...

* shot between 24mm and 50mm with 35mm being a sweet spot, (full frame sensor equivalent focal lengths).
* subject/model probably never smiling at the camera
* weird camera angles are the norm and rule of thirds are out the door
* F/4 to F/8 seems to be a good aperture. FE does not typically use razor sharp focal planes.
* Post Processing not so clean all the time. Does not need to be ISO 100
* Typically has subject/model wearing something "fashionable" or trendy.

So...those are my interpretations of FE. What say you?

I can't say that I remember ever having heard the term "fashion editorial" before. Of course, there is fashion photography, and there is editorial photography.......but I am unfamiliar with these two genres being combined.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "peace of mind", NOT "piece of mind".

When I hear the term 'fashion editorials', I personally think of a 'look book' for my client(s)... It's basically an album with the designer's latest couture (photography part), as well as some background on the inspiration/influence the designer had to create his/her current line of fashion (editorial part)... Designers usually have these 'look books' (or what I call fashion coffee table albums) at their showroom for potential clients to view...

Anyhoo... That's my take on the term 'fashion editorials'... My attributes are somewhat different than yours, Ryan... Hehehehe... I'm all over the place with focal length, aperture, and processing... But that's just me... Each photog will take a different approach with creating 'look books'... As long as the client/designer is happy with the results, I'm good to go!!!

:)
