this is a Single 1731sec shot at 100iso with my 6D thru my 8" Astrograph Newt. Guided on iEQ45pro Mount.
Taken back in Nov 2016.
Cold Nov night, Guiding was excellent. Its was getting late and i was getting tired. I set up BYEOS and went inside, I fell asleep
woke up 30 min later went to ck on my rig. BYEOS was locked up.
I unplugged everything, cover the scope and went to bed, I found this on the camera the next day.
This a cropped edit thru Pixinsight.

Great looking image of M42 . I see you also captured trails from space junk . That's so common now that it's hard to get a decent image of M42 anymore because of it . Imagers are hoping someday it will fall back to earth and burn up . Last time I imaged M42 I got the space junk also in 4 different images .

That's a great image, BJ. I could only wish for a happy accident like that!

Nice image!

My questions are:
1. Is the camera modded?
2. Did you use any filter?
3. Any guiding tools?

how do you manage to take such a long exposure without blowing out the core way more than that in a single exposure?
