That makes sense. The camera most likely doesn't address the cards at all unless the door is closed, so if you don't close it, it will not notice that the CFast card is missing.

Stormy Sunset...

Taken at this quaint little vacation home called Robinson's Cove in Moorea, French Polynesia... It was slighly sprinkling during dusk, due to the fast moving clouds that night... To my surprise, it opened up to reveal the sunset just as it was hitting the horizon... I had moments to get my gear setup and take a few photos of this amazing opportunity... Within 10 minutes, the fast moving clouds overtook the enter sky and it was back to cloudy skies for the rest of the evening... Nonetheless, nature presented it self with this amazing light and I'm honored to have captured it... Thanks Mother Nature!!! 1DX + 16-35LII... ISO 200, f/9 @ 20second exposure...

 :)

PS. No filters used!!!

Hello,

( I love my airshow photography, and been going to shows since 2005 )

I hired a 1dx back in 2015 for the royal international airshow with the determination to get my holy grain shot.

So with a 1dx ( my existing camera was a 7d mk1 ) and a hired lens 200mm - 400mm built-in extender ( my existing lens at the time was a 70 - 200mm F2,8 mk2 ) i somewhat gave it my best shot.

I got very mixed results ( the lens was very heavy - dead weight ) and the 1dx is an animal of a camera and takes some time and alot expertise to get to grips with a new camera.

The holy grail shot i got ( sorry for the poor image thats off my facebook page )

Long story short , i was so impressed with the speed , handling - i had to get myself one.

I got a grey import , second hand , shot count 5 for 1950 ( just recently picked myself up a 3000m prime f4.0 )

I just need some help insider knowledge , ( its sweet spot , do i allow it to do awb , auot iso ) just some hack , as it be my second airshow and just want to try and get to better grips with it this year.

Many thanks for all your help and advice
