Nice fresh paint on that engine, it looks younger than its 21 years.

Few more images from the Arkansas Railroad Museum. VERY VERY cool place to visit if you are ever in central Arkansas. It occupies the old Cotton Belt (St Louis & Southwestern) engine shop in Pine Bluff AR. The Cotton belt 819 (4-8-4 Steam engine) was actually built there in the shop. they have all kinds of cars, cabooses, MOW, Engines, snow plow etc on display inside the shop. Has an actual working transfer table outside too.

First time I have shot trains with my Fuji system. Trying out how continuous high mode works along with my new Fuji 100-400 zoom.

How is it possible to tell from looking at an engine how old the engine is?

It's not:-) There are other websites that have histories of locomotives. I looked up UP 6819 and found out it was built in 1996. It's a GE AC44CW (AC traction motors, 4,400 horsepower).

Think that's more likely 6K05 Carlisle to Crewe DRS working through Hellwith Bridge if I'm not mistaken.
