I just checked and found out that the Cleveland Public Library does 3d printing. I had no idea.

It seems that I'll be branching out from accessories made from PVC...

Believe me, you will end up buying one! I've only had mine 4 months but it has been printing pretty much 24/7 since the day I bought it.

Same here - I started by using free on-campus 3D printing facility, didn't like that I couldn't control the process (material / quality etc), and ended up ordering a 3D printer kit from China.

I'd love to, but until I'm working again, it's purely theoretical.. along with a 12"x24" optical bread board, a bellows, a microscope objective, and a StackShot for macro.

I'm about to go buy a hot glue gun, and that's a big investment for me.

Haha, yes it is never ending! It's taken me a while to get all my kit.

Now if you could find instructions so you could print a complete manual focus 600L (clear plastic for the optics of course) you'd be onto a winner :p

I would've customized it by adding my logo, printed in relief.

I only did one test shooting so far - Moon at 200mm (Canon 70-200 f4):

Looks a bit dirty - I suspect either dust or some pixels are bad. I'll have to create a pixel mask with SharpCap for cleaner results.

I am yet to try the camera at the prime focus of me 6" Celestron (f/5) reflector.
