for those who uses the smooth reflection apps, are you not worry of your shutter count?

I may be wrong, but I think on the A7r2 it only counts as one shot, on my A72 I think it counts all shots.

I'm sure I read that when I first got the app last year, but would pay to look it up.

Was messing with the a9 in the backyard today and decided to give video AF a try....there are different AF speeds available....at the slow and standard setting, you get that real smooth pull focus that is very similar to Canon's DPAF system....along with the AF performance with adapted lenses, this is more evidence of a dual pixel type af system. It's interesting that Sony appears to have put dual pixel into the a9 without marketing it as such.

Forgive the crappy camera work...it was handheld. Focus selection was made via the touch screen, though it doesn't seem that I was letting the camera finish focusing before selecting another area.

Not sure if you think this is the speed or just the smoothness of the Canon, but my 5D4 is way faster than this at refocusing. I have similar success with the 5D4 and the A7R ii.

Smoothness of the pull focus. This is set on the 'slow' setting...which is slow for creative purposes. At the fast setting its basically focusing like shooting stills.

You guys know my focal length is 300 and up.
But for affordable walk around/visitor centers/quaint towns what about this one-

I know we don't expect a lot out of a 400 dollar lens but this one caught my eye surfing B&H.

that would be cool if true. because to really make a smooth water we need 256 shots. result is only one though.

i'm interested to know the review of that too because I might end up selling the 35F1.4 and get a cheaper 35 one day.

Vinz, what caught my eye was 3.02 ounces!
The FE100-400 will stay on the a9 much like the 70-400Gii lives on the a99ii.....really I can't remember taking
it off though I have several a-mount lenses, so the Rok/Samyang 35 could so easily slip into a pocket.

Got this guy yesterday. It's bigger and heavier than I thought, but really nice to have a lot of power in a simple package. It fits into the godox speedlight bowens adapter...picked that up too. The best part is that with the frensel head attached I can slap speedlight modifiers and gels onto it. The downside to strobes is that there isn't an easy way to correct the color temperature to match the ambient. Magmod with a 1/4 cto gel attached.

Fred compared the 12-24 "freaky" with the Voightlander 15 Super Wide Heliar. Good news for the CV 15 is that it holds its own against the zoom. Man, that 12-24 zoom is just a solid performer!

Well the 12-24 might be freaky IF you know how to use it and obviously I don't :)
It was a work day at the cabin (and lots more needed, winters are hard on the place), but did grab a shot of the front deck, the dock
and the screened room-

wow really sharp corner to corner. I think the CV15IIIE suffers a bit in the corner department.

I will be sharing some images from a new series from an area in SATX called the King William District. It's a plush neighborhood with some unique (and expensive) homes.
