Thanks! We've got lots of rain happening in New England at the moment so I haven't had a proper test yet.
This is my favorite hiking around lens, I don't think I'd appreciate a 70-200 in this context because I always want more reach.
The 100-400 might be fun while hiking, but wouldn't be as useful as the f/4.0 for a dimly lit stage.
It's still a wonderful lens. I use it mostly to shoot city birds during the winter when light is (very) low here.
