Beautiful! How do you get the stark whites on the plant matter? I'm really just starting.

Here's one I took today using a rented converted 7D, using a 715nm filter. I've got a long way to go. Any suggestions, links to tutorials, et al would be appreciated.

Fwiw, I did the blue/red channel shift and Auto Tone in Ps, and made other adjustments in Lr. The sky was really that dramatic in DC today, so I was quite pleased.

UPDATE: I replaced the image. I played with Ps and Lr settings, and created a better image. Regarding suggestions and tutorials, I've obviously done research on it and have learned, but the tutorials I found have mostly been wanting, beyond the basics for starting to work with IR images, hence the original request for suggestions and links to tutorials. Thanks and enjoy!

That looks great!

Best way to get the foliage white is to set a custom white balance in camera and use that.

Set your custom WB with an image you take of grass at mid day on a hot sunny day.

Thank you!

Thanks also for your suggestion! I'd done a custom white balance Friday night, and used that Saturday. However, the light was probably sufficiently different to affect it. I've got the camera for a few more days, so I'll do a custom white balance as I'm shooting.

I have not found it made sense to do a custom WB every time, in fact, on my old D60 and Xti, I did it once, got a good one, and left it using that for years.

The idea being to tell the camera that IR light (which the grass is giving off on a hot day) is white.

Today I went out and got a better white balance in the bright sunlight (Thank you , Jake!), and used that to produce this. Post processing was much easier. Enjoy!
