The tt350 is the perfect size for a mirrorless setup, godox has won me over so far. What you get for the price is awesome.

Agreed, Godox have a nice system built up and now Fuji shooters who want TTL or HSS can have a range of good strobes with good remote triggers. I love my AD600.

But I don't like the controls on the X1T far to fiddly to operate, I wish the X32 was ported over to Fuji already. Was going to give the TT350 a try out but I often find the little Nissin i40 lacking where it's big brother, the i60 is not. So might just have to suck it up and try to get on with the remote trigger the I can get, for now or keep using the Canon version of the X1T that I already have...

Considering my options, I see that B&H has an additional bundle package that apparently expires tonight for the X-T2, the grip, the 18-55, and the 35 f/2 for $330 off. Appealing to me since when I had the X-T2 at launch, I didn't have the booster grip and from all I hear the grip really unlocks the camera. Also some additional FW updates as well. The 18-55 would cover daily walk around shooting, the 35 f/2 would cover the light prime. I was thinking of the 16-55 f/2.8 but maybe instead just make do with the 18-55 and pickup the 16 f/1.4 instead. My only concern is keeping up with my kids.

Obviously it's not a fair comparison since the Sony a9 is possibly the best AF camera in the world. But with my a6500 my hit rate with my kids (ages 4 and 2) was pretty high, probably 85-90%. With the a9 it's literally 98%. Would I be disappointed with the X-T2? I'm trying to dig up files that I had from last year with the X-T2 but looking for insight from you guys.

a little fun today .. :p

the tt350 so far is proving to be great bang for the buck..

as far as its light output.. well for its size and intended use , it works for me.. i wanted something small and compact for personal use ( for when I'm trying to keep its simple .. its just me and my wife, on Vaca. date nights , etc.. small family gatherings at someones home..)
the fact that I can control my flashpoint 360's is just an extra Awesomeness.. I will get the xt1 when released..
To be honest the fact that Godox now supports Fuji was a big factor in me deciding to give Fuji a try .
the fact the with the same pair of 360's i get ttl and hss with all my cameras ( Sony , Canon and now Fuji) has made me one happy camper!
I liked the Cactus v6ii ( I think that's wht it was called ) layout and ease of use, so easy to change between groups.. i had them before during my m43 days.. although i ended up returning due to the fact that i couldn't get them to work properly with HSS with my Panasonic gx8.
i have the Godox xt1 for canon and a flashpoint xt1 for my sony .. i know they are the same but switching between groups is easier with the flashpoint version than with Godox.. maybe a firmware difference?

I think fuji ticked off many loyal users when they created a firmware 4 for the X-E2 to perform identical to all the people that dumped the X-E2 for a "better" X-E2S. Fuji at least supports aging bodies with new firmware so that's an interesting concept.

Confused how anyone would be "ticked off" by that given that they came out together (the firmware and the body) and Fuji made it very public. If anyone was upset by it they really only had themselves to blame in my opinion.

Might be a really silly question to ask, is there any guides to maximizing the leaf shutter of the X100 series? I don't use flash much at all, but I keep on hearing one of the benefits of the X100 is the high flash sync speed and being able to overpower the sun. Is this maximized by using a external flash? Is this benefit useable at all using the small built in flash? Or would the benefit require using an external flash?

I've had reasonable success with the built in flash, but it really shines with an external flash unit. Lately I've been using the new Godox TT350 and loving it.

The 18/2 is an interesting lens, I love shooting with it & It's normally on my camera day to day. Not that fast at focusing but it renders something nice. Was the first piece of my equipment I wrote about on my site.

+1 for the 18mm f2. I think it's Fuji's most underrated lens.

I agree, I think every Fuji user should have one in their kit... I'm considering ordering myself a second one :)

When the X-E2s hit the market our local Craigslist had a nice list of X-E2 bodies people were selling off to buy the "better" newer body.

I don't recall Fuji publicly announcing the new firmware for X-E2 during the same exact moment of the X-E2S. I dont think that would make much sense as it would effect the sales of the newer X-E2s body.

My local camera shop actually told me they were shocked Fuji released a firmware for the old body to "convert" to a "newer" performing X-e2s. I guess many fuji users that are not all "geeked out" in the latest news were aware of this new firmware. Many have already sold off their X-E2 to help fund the newer improved body. Yes indeed these people were not happy to spend money on something they could have gotten for free in software updates.

During the X-E2s release the used older X-E2 were selling like hotcakes LOL!!!

You don't need to recall anything, you can google it.

They definitely doled both out at the same time and did so publicly. If people are buying products without reading reviews or knowing anything about how the new product compares to the old one it's on them, not the company in my opinion.

I suspect the influx of X-E2's on the used market was due to the X-Pro2 release, not the X-E2s release, but who knows for sure, that could be any number of causes.

Here you go: Fuji's press release from 15th Jan 2016 about the new firmware (external link)

And the same date for the E-X2s Here (external link)

Both releases sent out same day [In fact the firmware one was sent first] my guess is media only picked up on the shinny new toy of a camera.

No offence but your Fuji shooting local camera store guy demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of how Fuji do things. They are always updating the firmware with new features and improvements, it's call Kaizen (external link) 'change good' is the translation.

The new X-E2s model is also a result of this as Fuji wanted to also change some of the hardware and usability of the physical dials. No blame can be laid with Fuji on this one, quite the opposite when you think about it.

Nice shot Kim, I love the colors in the clouds! :)

I just recently went to an airshow too, brought the X-T1 since I figured it's ergonomics would be better off for using mostly the 55-200mm

Nice shots with the 55-200. I thought the show was next week - holiday brain still on so never even thought about driving over. There is a little[Ish] club airport up the road from my house, I guess a few planes took off from there. Was going to borrow either a 50-140 or 100-400 for the event. Really want to play with the 50-140 and a 2x for it.
