I went out this morning to photograph eagles. I didn't find any, but it was a good day anyhow. It was very cloudy, so the light was dim but excellent. I was hand-holding and it was breezy, so I really couldn't go below 1/1000th. Thus the ISOs are pretty high. The 1DX2 handled it very well. :-)

This is a great butterfly and bug lens. Used the 1.4T/C with all but the last one.

I was accompanying my son the East Coast for a college campus visit and I managed to carve out a few hours to make my first visit to Nickerson Beach. What an awesome place! Got several lifers between it and Cow Meadow Park.

Saw this American Oystercatcher feeding its chick.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Great crested grebe and chicks, photographed at the Bolle di Magadino Nature Preserve in Switzerland a month or so ago. I love the stripey young 'uns! They were a long way off, so these are heavy crops. Apologize for the quality!
