Raptors with prey:

Sitting out on the back deck, in the "cool" of the morning, with the morning sun, I am seeing and photographing BIF, mostly raptors, testing different Case and Zone settings on my 7Dii. I found these two raptors with prey in their talons, after I looked at the images on screen. No idea of that, when I took these, a first for me.

Sharp-shinned Hawk with Egret? chick, recently hatched:

I believe that he has a feather, caught in his hooked beak.

I was walking along the trail when this little green heron burst out of a bush and flew past me. I turned with him, acquired focus, and got off a series of 7 shots. Here are the favorite 2 that show better wing positions.

The heron was flying into the sun so the pictures were strongly side-lighted. However, I think that also created a more dramatic mood with the bird being highlighted against a dark background.

Excellent result with the 2x. Very well done.

I think he is sandbagging us. He's obviously been using cameras so long that they are an extension of his arm!
