This bison shot from Yellowstone is cropped quite a bit, as I couldn't get to my A77ii body with the tele when we saw it.

Picked up my used but new to me A6500 yesterday. Gotta say, I love it! I really like the Auto ISO Minimum Shutter Speed function, silent shutter, handling and overall feel of it and glad I upgraded. I don't think anyone wants to see the 200 shots I took last night of the TV remote so I won't add them but I'll try and shoot something post worthy tonight.

Interesting, thanks David. I have both the glass and bottle on their own layers so I can adjust them separately. I did desaturate the cyans in the glass but I thought I should leave some color rather than just desaturate all color. I'll reduce but not completely lower the saturation and see how that looks.

I agree, killing the yellow all the way might make the glass look b&w, which would look bad. I might even limit the adj by brushing on the layer mask just where the yellow patches are, so the rest of the glass and ice isn't affected by the reduction.

Waiting on that big brown truck is torture today because I know my house is one of the last ones on the route.

I'm interested to see what kind of shape this "9" rated a99ii from B&H is in.

I'm even more interested to shoot it :)

Excellent image! The B18 is a perfect astro lens.

To answer your question, yes, I bought the Pure Night Filter. Do I think its worth it...not sure yet. I finally put it to use in the Smokies two weeks ago. These are two images, taken back to back, the first one without the Pure Night, the second one with. The only edit in post was to bring them both up by +1EV. Like I said, I am not sold...for the price I paid for it...I was expecting something better, and I don't typically shoot MW in areas where I need to eliminate the color cast...additionally, using it meant that there was one more piece of glass to keep clean and free of condensation...

OK Travis, to my eye the difference is ginormous. I'd jump on that filter, and tried to but he is currently out of
them and with 28 days until my westward expansion trip doesn't look on getting one. Ian did say he'd notify me
if/when.

That's an impressive difference. If I did a lot of MW or other star shots, I'd get one.

But for the one or two times a year I shoot stars, I just don't see myself buying one.

You'll find most of us in this 'room' quite congenial, I'd be the exception.
On the shot of the TV remote, well don't give Gene any ideas ;)

I'm really digging all the files I'm seeing from the 100-400.

From 10,000 feet it is tough for me to tell the difference between what you get from that lens and the 70-400Gii--which is pretty fantastic for you, because the weight savings and no adapter is sweet.

I wish I could have brought those dice to Vegas a few weeks back!!!

I only shot a little craps, but I did mix it up at the Rio at the WSOP a bit.

After busting out of my satellite a painful 3rd, I checked out the much ballyhooed high-stakes area. Nice chairs, but otherwise I can see why the nosebleed guys still prefer Aria and Bellagio.
