I kind of chuckled with the bird question. I find the flower much more unusual looking, what kind is it?

Anyone use the Canon 2x iii extender? Is the 1.4 better? I also have the 5d4 and thats why I'd lean towards the 2x..
THanks in advance!!

My experience,,I have both of them,,,is that your keeper rate will be much higher with the 1.4X. you can get good results with the 2X,,,but it is very important to have all your duck in a row,,and then some luck on top of that. My 2X is the only photo related purchase that i have regretted.

Just duck it !

I think you made a wise decision. I know I wine a lot about my 7DII but I'm thinking I need to sell this one and get a new 7DII to replace it.

Why sell Jeff? High shuttercount? Your pics always seem spot on!

BTW, I didn't want to resurrect that thread about focus issues so I never updated. After complaining enough to rise up about 3 levels of customer service, someone I talked to took mine out for a spin. It was sent back to me (no warranty but no charge either so no complaints there). The darn thing has never been better! I can't believe the AF on it! I guess the third time really is the charm (I just wish I know what they did lol!).

Sooooo, I then promptly went out and dropped it onto the asphalt. Unbelievable. I actually tether my 300 and 500 to my tripod because I'm paranoid about putting it over my shoulder, and I drop my camera body! It was hanging on my side on the Blackrapid strap (I always check the connections), I have a sturdy quick release (screw not lever) threaded onto the strap. This was attached to the RRS foot on my 100-400 II. The only thing that could have happened was the lens button must have been depressed while walking by bumping against my leg. I heard a clang and looked down to see my lens firmly attached to the strap and the body on the ground.

Good news is, it's still shooting as good as new (or in my case, better than new!) It hit on the corner near the mode dial, apparently the thing is built like a tank! I did have it checked out locally, but no issues!

Here's a quick shot taken at lunch, SOOC, a bit of a crop.

Im a bit like that as well and use a tether. My first 7DII was adjusted by Canon on a rear wheel replacement which cause all my trouble. Im not sure why they didnt just replace the wheel and send it back to me. BUT right now i have the top wheel going funky, moves sometimes or moves 2 or 3 clicks on one click of the wheel. Sure makes manual a bit of a chalange. I have to check with more dilagents in the view finder to be sure im changing to my train of thought while shooting. Im still shooting it like it work as normal but its broken. Nothing i can do. Today i just let it shoot all on its own while we relaxed lol. Wife grand daughter and myself looking over the landscape. I still love the 7DII but there's some things that need to be o the new 7DIII, like endless shooting in raw, dont care what card. And metering on active point, if it doesnt have these two im gona be disappointed. I'm in the trailer right now.. looking for Moose and bear in the morning. But yes.. i wish it was a working like new 7DII i was carrying into the field.

Another bear...good/bad year for them in Whistler BC. Lack of food last winter brought them out more but closer to people. Early morning shot, high ISO, no noise reduction.
