I took thes last Monday evening. So many things were wrong with the shoot...
I was sick with bronchitis and had been in bed for three days, last second begging for a few shots by my daughter who was moving to San Fran the next morning. This left 5-10 minutes of sun before setting, and we felt like mosquito bait as its been raining a lot. The whole time rush and swatting of mosquitoes really were a huge distraction from being able to pay a lot of attention to small details. At least she liked a few from the 15minute shoot.

These were my favorite four. I tried to keep the light and image on the soft 'feeling' side, and just under high key.

So many great qualities to this shot..
Sharp, golden hour lighting and coloring, peak action of surfer and wave, favorable background/bokeh.

Thank you. a small risk to the gear as well since I was just above knee height in the water.

I went to my usual spot for bird shots. This is the just after he hit the water shot. He did come up without a fish. Not sure empty handed is the right term.
Per recent posts, for those that want the info the crop size was 2654x1705 before resizing for posting.

Eagle this time. It is moving out of range for really clear shots but I don't see this every day.

There is a small beach right in front of the place where I set up the camera. I didn't see the fish at the waters edge but this guy did. Closest I've been to an eagle with the camera yet. Shot has not been cropped, just resized.

ps: this is not the fish captured in the other shot.

Fantastic shot as usual. I'd love to get the change to capture a bear but I really don't want to meet one in the woods. Some kind of irrational built in fear that helps keep my butt attached to my body.

You don't need to go to the woods, you can meet them anywhere. Meet "Cringer" maybe 100 meters from my hotel. Or maybe she just dropped her water bottle and is trying to get it back.

Another early morning shot @ high ISO with no NR applied.

I won't argue that point. I've seen more bears in town than I have in the woods. I was here about two months when I saw the first one. I was at work and he ran through the parking lot, perhaps 60 feet from where I was standing. Thought it was a Newfoundland dog at first. So the thought process went from someone's dog to holy s..! that's a bear.
