If you have traveled from the US to Baja for photography reasons, how did you handle gear? We will be driving and will be possibly going deep. Do you pack a certain way? Keep certain gear home? I am thinking of not taking my 5d4 or 7D2 and 70-200/2.8 IS and 300/4is and instead taking my older T2i and 55-250 STM. Im not so worried about taking it to a harsh environment, Im more concerned with theft. Going for the Baja 1000 and shooting it wont be a problem. Ill be going with very experienced people in regards to going to Baja for off road racing.

So anyways any suggestions in regards to keeping the gear safe from theft or confiscation would be helpful. Thanks!

Also, if you have any helpful tips for the event if you have shot it please let me know as well.

I would be looking into insurance. In addition keep in mind the old adage "out of sight, out of mind" and make sure your gear is not visible. Also, stow your gear while in a remote location, not for instance in a restaurant parking lot. Thieves watch parking lots, they see you stow the gear and go inside and know they have an hour to do their work on ripping you off.

The red wine in Baja is surprisingly good.
