One of my neighbor has a flock of Homing Pigeons. I notice them, every morning at about 9am, flying from the south, to the north, at a very high rate of speed, much faster than our White-winged Doves. I looked them up, they have been clocked at over 90mph. Not sure these are that fast, but they are only in view for 2-3 seconds at a distance of perhaps 130 meters. A real challenge for my equipment and my old geezer reaction times. Yesterday morning I managed to take a burst of seven shots, capturing about half the flock. Two of the best are attached:
These were taken 200 milliseconds apart, 65 point zone focus, Case 3, all parameters set at +2.
Perhaps not the most beautiful BIF, but very satisfying to finally capture some of the flock, in focus. These are cropped, less than 50%.
Another Gull in nice light.
