Your photo reminds me of one I took of my wonderful dog Brisket (now gone) back in 2013 with the RX100 I:

Taken about eight rows back at the Golden Nugget Showroom, where Frankie Moreno put on an amazing show.

Scotty Alexander joined him on stage to hold a dynamic duo jam session.

I didn't really go out of my way to get great shots, and maybe these could have been more crisp, but my RX100ii gives me a lot of freedom to both enjoy my night first in places like Las Vegas, and document it second without peeving the wife. The first shot was was corrected a stop and a half for exposure, and although noise was creeping in it would still be OK for newsprint.

Several years old and this little point and shoot still can get shots it has no business taking.

This is the pick of the litter from the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. It is a tough place to shoot for any crop sensor camera, and probably many FF bodies as well.

After viewing all these wonderful photos, I believe I must buy this camera. Now I got to figure out which version to get. Most likely the RX100V.

Any recommendations on accessories?
Carry case, strap, memory card, etc?

I already have the 6D and 1DMKIV, but I need a high quality pocket camera and me thinks this Sony is it.

Also, some where on the net I read the camera comes with a free (or trial) version of Capture 1.
Can anyone confirm? I always shoot raw.

get the IV or the V, you can pick up the IV used on the forums pretty cheap. I recommend the front trip piece and a rear screen protector

I'm a little surprised the II doesn't get more love... it has that extra reach (100mm vs 70mm)

I'd love the extra reach, but model II doesn't have a VF. And that's a must-have for me.

Different strokes for different folks, but I don't miss a VF on my mkii.

I owned 2 compact cameras without VFs. I had a hard time composing a scene in bright sunlight. Other wise composing with an LCD screen would be ok.

Not having a VF is a drag, but I compensate by using it held against my body with the screen tilted up oftentimes.
