Went to France about 4 years ago and saw one of these but had no chance at all to try and get any pics.

Went back this year a few weeks ago, sitting in a little town having a coffee and one turned up right next to me, at a plant pot.

I tried so hard to get as close as possible (24.70mm lens on) and cranked the shutter speed as much as I could.

So wish I could have stopped the wings but i'm reasonably happy with this as this thing was small and not at all still, and this image is heavily cropped

Hope you like

Such gorgeous pictures everyone! I actually went to my parents house (Fredericksburg, VA) and was talking to my dad about these moths while we were sitting outside and one actually came to my mothers flowers! They are SO cool looking, and apparently my parents see them often.
