I could never really use the rear screen with handheld shots. My framing always sucks lol. I do use it more when on a tripod and almost always when shooting video.

That said I come from many years of SLR shooting, I'm still struggling adapting to the EFV for some reason.

my first mirrorless ,, the sony a6000 was a bit of a struggle with evf ,, as their seemed to be a bit of lag I think.. maybe it was settings ihad it at? ... I dislike a lot abouit that camera and returned in about 2 weeks so didn't own it long enough to know.. but since then , the evf has been my favorite part about mirrorless since coming over from dslr's..

recently bought an 80d and while I do enjoy it , I really miss the evf when i'm shooting with it.. the what you see is you get is too valuable to me

Yes the 9v charger is for charging the batteries in the grip and will only charge those. If you want to charge the battery in the camera body without removing the grip you can use any suitable USB charger and plug it into the side of the camera - behind the left door.

Having 'boost' mode on will use all three batteries, turning it off will use the grip ones first and only when they are depleted will the battery in the body start being consumed.

Although the height of the two bodies [5D3 and X-T2 with grip] is about the same, the depth is a lot less and the width is also less, the weight will be about the same though. [Edit: Weight of 5D3 with battery is 950Kg & of X-T2 with grip, 3 batteries & cards is 887Kg. The grip is 330Kg with two OEM batteries in there.]

Two camera photos overlaid as exact ratio of dimensions:

Could you be more specific as to what is a suitable USB charger. Can a 5volt iphone charger be used. Normal Fuji charger
is 8.4 volts and Fuji grip charger is 9 volts. Very confusing to me just don,t want to mess up.

From the manual:
The battery also charges if the camera is connected to a computer. Turn the camera off, insert the battery, and connect a USB cable as shown, making sure the connectors are fully inserted. The charging time of about 300 minutes is not affected by the type of cable used.

So any 5V charger capable of supplying 900mA or more will charge the battery in about 5 Hours! Typical Apple charger for iPad or iPhone etc...

I don't have an X-T2 right now so I can't plug in an external power bank to test for you but they are usually ~5V and either 1.1 or 2.1 amps so should add power. Of course if you want a lot of time without changing batteries [LIke doing a huge timelapse] you can plug in the power coupler and a ~8.4v USB power brick with the correct connector for the coupler.

Turn camera on - connect WiFi - start Cascable app - Push 'OK' on camera to change device [app] - hit connect, if not set to auto connect.

You'll need to do this if you use another app with the camera, although if you go from Cascable to the Fuji camera remote app you don't [well you do but it's more automagicy]. The camera WiFi screen will tell you what app is is looking to connect to & you'll need to correct it by pushing OK if you want a different one [other than the Fuji app].

EDIT: You can also download photos from your camera to your phone with Cascable.

I really prefer the large view that the Cascable app offers and as a plus the controls I find easier to use. I do wish Fuji would spend a little time renewing their native app in terms of UX to make it more like the X-Cameras it meant to work with. It's not a bad app but could be a lot better IMO.

Just completed 3 days of shooting an Epic VW show in my City!

The X-T2 booster battery pack is an absolutely necessary tool for me. I honestly could not have been able to tolerate using the X-T2 in the 3 days. The biggest bonus was using the booster as a glorified 2 battery charging system.

I actually even did a portrait session with the 56 f/1.2 during the big show. Insane weekend!!

I used my 5dmk3 with Tamron 15-30 which truly was an extremely heavy beast of a lens. The IQ was absolutely amazing which renders differently than the Fuji 10-24mm. However using the fuji X-t2 with 10-24mm was also a great tool.

Simple setup of 5d3 with Tamron 15-30mm, X-t2 with all of my Fuji lenses. The Canon combo gave me much nicer sun flare shots while the fuji kept up in IQ. Absolutely killer combo for me this weekend.

Pano shot taken on an extremely large man lift.

I think I have found my first major complain about Fuji well I'm not sure if it's camera or lens related

But I noticed especially with the 56 that thing's in the distance another words not the main subject in focus often get this weird look
Like a smooth loss of detail type effect almost like smeared

Again it's more evidence a lot more evident with the 56 then it is with my 23
Not really visible when looking at picture normally.. so I'm thinking I shouldn't let it bother me yet it does I've got another 6 days that I can return the 56
But again not sure if this is lens or camera issue then I've also or read that there are issues with Fuji raw files and Lightroom
Tonight I will try to experiment with editing only with Photoshop and see if that helps somehow?
